STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR REINFORCING PILE FOUNDATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical structure and method for reinforcing a pile foundation which can secure the safety of the pile foundation and have a simple work process.SOLUTION: A steel shell 7 whose top 35 is located above a water surface 19 and whose bottom 17 is embedded in a ground 6 of a water bottom 5 is installed so as to enclose an existing pile foundation extending downward from a footing 1 under a superstructure 2 to be installed in water and comprising a plurality of piles 3 supported by the ground 6 of the water bottom 5. The ground 6 around the piles 3 is improved to form a ground improvement body 11 by high pressure jet. A tie rod 13 is approximately horizontally installed inside the steel shell 7, and both ends of the tie rod 13 are connected to the steel shell 7. Subsequently, reinforced concrete 9 is filled into a zone 41 inside the steel shell 7 and located from the tops 37 of the piles 3 to the water bottom 5 to achieve a reinforcing structure 39.
