PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator preventing a regulation pin from being unlocked by vibration or the like, in the electromagnetic actuator applied to a valve lift adjustment device of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic actuator 401 switches a locked state that a regulation pin 601 is locked to be inoperable and a free state that the regulation pin 601 is made operable by an electromagnetic force generated by the electric conduction of a coil 42 and actuates the regulation pin 601 by an energizing force of a pin spring 74 in the free state. A latch plate 55 locking the regulation pin 601 by being fit into a latch groove 611 is provided to be reciprocally movable in a direction orthogonal to an axis of the regulation pin 601. Since movable directions of the latch plate 55 and the regulation pin 601 are orthogonal to each other, the unlocking of the regulation pin 601 by the vibration or the like of an internal combustion engine can be prevented. |
