<p>The invention relates to a method for disinfecting sludge, in which method burnt lime CaO is added to the sludge, the sludge mixture is agitated until the pH of the mixture exceeds 11, and peroxide such as peroxyacid, hydrogen peroxide or their mixture is added to the mixture to bind ammonia formed in the agitation step. The invention further relates to a soil amendment and a fertilizer produced by the method.</p> |
