<p>A vane mechanism comprising: an outer cylinder configured to rotate about its central longitudinal axis; an inner cylinder configured to rotate about its central longitudinal axis, the inner cylinder provided within the outer cylinder, the central longitudinal axis of the outer cylinder and the central longitudinal axis of the inner cylinder being parallel and spaced apart such that a first line contact always exists between an outer surface of the inner cylinder and an inner surface of the outer cylinder; a vane attached to an inner surface of the outer cylinder and extending radially towards the central longitudinal axis of the outer cylinder, wherein the inner cylinder is configured to rotatably and slidably engage the vane; and a shaft attached to the vane such that a central longitudinal axis of the shaft coincides with the central longitudinal axis of the outer cylinder, the shaft configured to be located within the inner cylinder such that a second line contact always exists between an outer surface of the shaft and an inner surface of the inner cylinder.</p> |
