The present invention proposes methods for encoding and decoding a multiview video by performing inter-image prediction and inter-view prediction on pictures from the respective views of the multiview video. The method for the predictive coding of a multiview video according to the present invention comprises: determining a reference picture set which consists of a reference picture set consisting of short-term/long-term restored pictures among restored pictures from the same view which have been restored before a current picture, and a reference picture set consisting of short-term restored pictures among restored pictures from different views which have been restored before the current picture; determining a first reference list and/or a second reference list which comprise restored pictures from the same view for the inter-image prediction of the current picture and restored pictures for the inter-view prediction of the current picture; determining at least one reference picture and one reference block for the current block of the current picture by using the determined reference list(s); and performing inter-image prediction and/or inter-view prediction on the current block by using the reference block.
