Provided is an electronic component having improved degree of freedom in design. A diplexer (10) as an electronic component includes a rectangular parallelepiped electronic component element (12). The electronic component element (12) has a plurality of laminated insulating material layers. Insulating material layers (14a-14k) have respectively formed therein internal electrodes (16a-16q) and via hole conducting bodies (18a-18j). On one side surface of the electronic component element (12), L-shaped external electrodes (20a, 20b) are formed. The external electrode (20a) is electrically connected to the internal electrodes (16k, 16n), and the external electrode (20b) is electrically connected to the internal electrodes (16a, 16b).
