PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor using an electrolyte which is capable of suppressing a pH change and creeping-up even when charging/discharging is performed in severe conditions such as high temperature.SOLUTION: The electrolyte contains a compound represented by the following formula and suppresses a pH change in the electrolyte. (In the formula, S represents sulfur; Rand Rrepresent organic substituents having one or more carbon atoms; in at least one of the substituents, a hydrogen atom is bonded to a carbon atom closest to the sulfur atom of a cation; and an electron-withdrawing group is bonded to a carbon atom constituting R.) |
