The gear box (1) has a threaded spindle (2) with an outer profile (3), and a nut (4) with an inner profile (5). Rolling bodies (6) are arranged between the outer and inner profiles. A determination device determines feed motion of the threaded spindle with respect to the nut. The determination device comprises rotation sensing measuring units (13) and a nut-side rotationally supported rotary element (9) i.e. gear wheel (10), which is combined with the outer profile. The rotary element is coupled with a rotation transducer whose rotation is detected by the measuring units. The measuring units are designed as lightly-optical scanning measuring units (14).
