The method involves correcting multiple quantities injected into a cylinder are corrected, where a class of injections is associated to each quantity, where every injections of the class participate in correction at a determined time point or are excluded from the correction. Each class of injections is changed between a status, in which the injections participates in correction, and another status, in which the injections do not participate in the correction. An effective quantity is associated to each class of injections.
