The device has support bodies designed as base bodies (2) and telescopic inserts (3). A spindle drive (21) is supported in a longitudinal direction (L) and rotatable with respect to the base bodies. The spindle drive is arranged coaxial to a screw jack (20) for operating the screw jack. The base bodies are provided with a receiving space for a gearbox assembly above a support (22) of the spindle drive. Components of the gearbox assembly are designed as a gear housing (31) and multiple countershafts (A1, A2) whose ends are supported in side walls of the gear housing.
