ELECTROCHEMICAL COMPETITIVE ASSAY AND USE THEREOF

The present invention relates to an electrochemical competitive assay, kits, methods and use thereof. In particular, an homogeneous or heterogeneous electrochemical competitive assay using an oligonucleotide ligand e.g. an aptamer bound to a redox-labeled target or target analog and comprising steps of measuring a first electrochemical signal at an electrode, adding a sample thereby displacing the redox-labeled target by the non-labeled target comprised in the sample, and measuring a second signal, the difference in signal intensities being indicative of the presence and amount of target in the sample, is described. The assay enables for instance the use of enantiospecific aptamer to detect and quantify the presence of enantiomers in a (racemic) sample such as L- or D- tyrosinamide.
