PURPOSE: A method for processing a file of a storage system and data server according to the method can transmit the processed file. CONSTITUTION: A network interface unit (401) receives a file request from a client. A storage unit (403) stores a data file. An additional function processor (402) loads a file corresponding to the request from the storage unit. The additional function processor generates a result file by performing a process requested by the client for the loaded file. A control unit (404) transmits the result file generated to the client through the network interface.
