An IPS(In Plane Switching)-mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to make the liquid crustal panels thin by forming a transparent metal layer inside of a liquid crystal panel, not on the rear side of a color filter array substrate, so as to carry out a wet edging process to reduce the thickness of the upper and lower substrates of the liquid crystal panel. An IPS-mode liquid crystal panel(190) comprises a color filter array substrate(170), a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array substrate(180), and a conductive sealant(145). The color filter array substrate comprises a display area(P1) and a non-display area(P2). A transparent metal layer(105) is formed on the display area and the non-display area. The TFT array substrate comprises a conductive metal line(135) which is formed at an area corresponding to the transparent metal layer of the display area. The conductive sealant electrically connects the transparent metal layer with the conductive metal line. |
