PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a velocity measuring device (speed gun) precisely measuring an initial velocity and a final velocity.SOLUTION: A velocity measuring device includes: a microwave Doppler sensor 11; an arithmetic operation part 13 for executing the arithmetic operation on the basis of Doppler signals output from the microwave Doppler sensor; a display part 14 for outputting the result of the arithmetic operation by the arithmetic operation part 13; and a storage device 15. The arithmetic operation part finds a function approximate to a straight line representing the transition of the velocity, finds the initial velocity by calculating the velocity at a ball release point on the basis of the function, and finds the final velocity by calculating the velocity at a final velocity point. |
