PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design member whose design properties can be improved.SOLUTION: A design member 1 is obtained through: a colored layer forming step S1 of forming an opaque colored layer 3 on the back face of a transparent or translucent sheet material 2 formed of resin; a molding step S2 of molding the sheet material 2 formed of resin formed with the colored layer 3 into a desired shape; a cutting step S3 of cutting the prescribed part A of the colored layer 3 formed in the colored layer forming step S1 into a prescribed shape; and a coloring step S4 of performing desired coloring different from the colored layer 3 to a prescribed part A subjected to cutting in the cutting step S3.
