PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance combustion stability during cold times of an engine 1 fed with fuel containing at least alcohol.SOLUTION: A control means (an engine controller 100) sets a fuel injection period into a cylinder 11 during an intake stroke period in a first operation state where an intake port is in a negative pressure state not more than the predetermined value in a cold state where the temperature of an engine body is lower than the predetermined temperature, and sets a fuel injection period into the cylinder at least during a compression stroke period in a second operation state where the intake port is a second operation state being a compression state where the intake port is higher than the predetermined value.
