PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device that is provided with partition walls or a porous member, can reduce loss of display and can consequently increase contrast, and further to provide an electronic apparatus.SOLUTION: An electrophoretic display device 10 comprises: a counter substrate 3 having a common electrode 4 on a surface 3a; a pixel substrate 1 that is installed apart from the counter substrate 3 and has pixel electrodes 2 on a surface 1a opposite to the surface 3a; partition walls 8 that partition a space between the counter substrate 3 and pixel substrate 1 into a plurality of cells 11; and a dispersion liquid 5 that is filled in each of the plurality of cells 11 and has electrophoretic particles 6. The partition walls 8 are installed at a surface 3a side via a spacer layer 9a. The spacer layer 9a has fibers 9b and spaces 9c among the fibers 9b. As viewed from a normal direction of the counter substrate 3, an area of each of the fibers 9b is smaller than an area of an end surface 8a of each of the partition walls 8. |
