According to the invention several embodiments are proposed of a child-resistant dispensing mechanism comprising a cap portion including at least one deflectable member; and a base portion including at least one groove adapted to receive at least a portion of the at least one deflectable member; wherein the cap portion is located atop and adapted to a separable joint with the base portion; the at least a portion of at least one deflectable member in a non deflected state is located within the at least one groove and within the base portion, when the cap portion is connected to the base portion; wherein the base portion has an elongate cross section with opposite longer sides and opposite shorter sides; wherein the at least one groove is opened to the outer side of the base portion; wherein the groove has a slot, mating with the at least a portion of one deflectable member within the groove to prevent removal the cap portion and substantially prevents the cap portion from being removed from the base portion, and the at least a portion of the one deflectable member in a non-deflected state may be removed beside the slot and removed from the at least one groove to be moved in the position not higher the base portion so that cap portion is partially removed from the base portion, but remains connected thereto. |
