<p>A passive radar ranging apparatus, for exploiting the pulsed energy of random scanning or non-scanning emitters having a receiver, comprises a multiple beam antenna and an associated beam forming matrix, time and angle measurement devices and a resolver for calculating and measuring the range to a pulse emitter and to emitter-illuminated objects. As a single emitter energy pulse is propagated to the receiver by direct transmission and by reflected transmission fromobjects of interest each time of arrival and each angle of arrival of the emitted and reflected energy pulse is measured and recorded allowing the range to the emitter to be calculated.</p> |
