PURPOSE: An edge dam control method for a sheet casting device is provided to prevent coil break of a strip due to an edge burst and to increase a yielding percentage by suppressing the occurrence of an edge crack and reducing the amount of edge cutting in a post-processing. CONSTITUTION: An edge dam control method for a sheet casting device includes the following steps: Edge dams, which are installed to close both sides between a pair of casting rolls respectively, are pressure-moved and upward moved at a constant speed to a casting roll side. When scale is mixed in molten steel which solidifies, the pressure movement speed of the edge dam, which pressures the casting roll, is reduced.
