<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively take out light emitted from a light emitting layer to the outside, and also to simplify a process for producing a light emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 includes a stacked structure including a light emitting layer emitting light by supplying power and a reflection layer 30 for reflecting the light emitted from the light emitting layer. The reflection layer 30 has: a first conductive layer 300 made of titanium oxide (TiO<SB>2</SB>) presenting electrical conductivity with inclusion of impurities and having transparency to the light emitted from the light emitting layer; and also has a second conductive layer 302, which is provided contacting the first conductive layer 300, made of electrically conductive material having a refractive index smaller than that of the first conductive layer 300 and having transparency to the light emitted from the light emitting layer.
