PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate synthesizing step using non or a reduced amount of a halogen-containing solvent and/or avoiding or decreasing extremely high temperatures and/or low temperatures, in a method for synthesizing a pyrrolidylthiocarbapenem derivative, or to provide a method for producing a pyrrolidylthiocarbapenem derivative using the intermediate synthesizing step. SOLUTION: A method for synthesizing a sulfamide comprises following steps: (a) a step of reacting a halogenated sulfonyl isocyanate with an alcohol in toluene or CH<SB>3</SB>CN to prepare a reaction product; (b) a step of adding a compound selected from the group consisting of pyridine, a substituted pyridine and quinolines to the reaction product formed in the step (a), to prepare a reaction product; and (c) a step of adding aqueous ammonia to the reaction product prepared in the step (b), to prepare the sulfamide. The method for synthesizing the pyrrolidylthiocarbapenem derivative includes the above method for synthesizing a sulfamide as one step. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
