<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable intuitive recognition of the photographing position and photographing azimuth angle of a displayed image without requiring an enormous amount of data like map data. <P>SOLUTION: The photographing position (Xm, Ym) and the photographing azimuth angle Dm of a displayed image Pm are read, and the current position (Xn, Yn) and the azimuth angle θn of a digital camera 10 are captured. It is determined to which side the photographing azimuth angle Dm is directed with respect to the azimuth angle θn, and an icon corresponding to the direction is superimposed on the image Pm. The distance between the photographing position (Xm, Ym) of the image Pm being displayed and the current position (Xn, Yn) of the digital camera 10 is displayed.
