<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and light rail vehicle drive system which achieves a self-propelled operation by power accumulated in a power storage device at the time of power interruption of a wire. <P>SOLUTION: The system is provided with a filter reactor, an inverter which is connected to the filter reactor and converts DC power into AC power, a motor connected to an AC-side of the inverter, a capacitor connected between DC input/output terminals of the inverter, a voltage detector detecting voltage of the capacitor, a contactor connected to a wire-side rather than a high speed circuit breaker, a battery connected to the contactor and the DC output terminal of the inverter, and a contactor control part controlling an operation of the contactor. The contactor control part controls a plurality of the contactors based on a voltage value detected by the voltage detector in the rail vehicle drive system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
