<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire having excellent operability and kink resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The guide wire 1 includes: a wire body 10 having a welded portion 14 where a first linear wire 2 disposed on the distal end side and a second linear wire 3 disposed on the proximal end side of the first wire 2 and composed of a material with an elastic modulus higher than that of the composing material of the first wire 2 are connected by welding, the welded portion 14 being substantially smooth; a cover layer arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the wire body 10 so as to cover welded portion 14 and composed of silicone resin which is a material to reduce friction of the surface around the welded portion 14; and a proximal end side cover layer arranged at the proximal end side of the cover layer and composed of fluororesin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
