The method involves storing data in physical sectors (126) of a physical memory (102). The required data is derived from the stored data according to pre-change mode. The derivation is performed on a data interface (100) between a receiving unit (104) and the physical memory, according to the pre-change mode. The received data is provided at the data interface of the receiving unit. The receiving unit is configured to manage the storage and reading of data in the physical sector of the physical memory. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a computer program product for modification of data stored in flash memory; and (2) a data interface for modification of data stored in flash memory.
