A barrel 1 for a dart is adapted to be connected, or is connected, to a tip at a first end 3, and is adapted to be connected, or is connected, to a shaft at a second, opposite end 4. A series of discrete, spaced-apart indentations 6 are formed on the exterior of the barrel 1. Each indentation 6 has a width occupying less than 1/10th of the circumference of the barrel 1, at the longitudinal position of the indentation 6, and a length occupying less than 1/10th of the length of the barrel 1 in the longitudinal direction. A longitudinal direction is defined between the first and second ends 3, 4 and a circumferential direction is defined around the exterior of the barrel 1 in the direction which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. None of the indentations 6 are part of a longer cut or groove. |
