<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric double-layer capacitor having exceptional long-term reliability, and particularly an expansion-suppressing effect; and a non-aqueous electrolyte for the electric double-layer capacitor. The present invention is an electric double-layer capacitor provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a non-aqueous solvent and an electrolytic salt, wherein the electric double-layer capacitor is characterized in that the non-aqueous solvent contains a fluoroether represented by general formula (1) Rf1-O-Rf2 (1) (where Rf1 and Rf2, which may be the same or different, are a C1-10 alkyl group or a C1-10 fluoroalkyl group; and Rf1 and/or Rf2 is a fluoroalkyl group), and contains a fluorine-containing unsaturated compound, and a hydroxyl-containing compound represented by formula Rf1OH (where Rf1 is as mentioned above), in a total amount of no more than 5000 ppm relative to the fluoroether.</p> |
