The head (1) has a main combustion chamber (4) provided in the head and extended to a combustion chamber opening (5) in a cylinder head base (6) of the cylinder head, where a pre-chamber (3) is arranged in the cylinder head. The main combustion chamber is connected to the pre-chamber by a way of a flow transfer passage (7). The pre-chamber is equipped with an ignition device and an electrode spark plug (18) or laser spark plug, where the ignition device is arranged opposite to the flow transfer passage in the pre-chamber. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
