A supporting system for a portable device and a method therefor are provided to prevent illegal usage of the portable device by another person through updating of items on feature tables such as a user name, a user access number, and a user password, while an initial language and frequency modulation information can be updated. A peripheral control module(60) controls a portable device(100). A communication module(70) relays communication with a communication network. An input controller(50) inputs a command from a user. A control module(10) executes downloading of a searched data file to the portable device when a download command for the data file exists, and demands optimization for the data file to a contents server, so that an optimized data file is downloaded to the portable device. |
