According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a recoding controller (13), a capability information receiver (213) and a content information transmitter (211). The recoding controller (13) records a plurality of broadcast video content data and a plurality of content information pieces in a storage device and successively erases first video content data from a beginning part of video when a data amount of the plurality of broadcast video content data exceeds a threshold. The capability information receiver (213) receives capability information indicative of whether the client apparatus has a function of controlling playback of the first video content data, from the client apparatus. The content information transmitter (211) transmits to the client apparatus the plurality of content information pieces including first content information associated with the first video content data if the apparatus capability information indicates that the client apparatus has the function.
