PURPOSE: Lactobacillus plantarum HD1 strain and an antifungal composition containing the same are provided to suppress harmful yeast and fungi in foods and to be used as a natural food preservative. CONSTITUTION: Lactobacillus plantarum HD1 strain (KFCC11512P) has antifungal activity against Issatchenkia sp. An antifungal composition contains the strain, a culture thereof, a concentrate of the culture, a dried material of the culture, or a combination thereof as an active ingredient. The antifungal composition has pH 2.8-4.2.
