[Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A portable container for fluids under pressure has a flat shape, its side walls being substantially plain and prevented from bulging outwardly by the provision of tie-rods disposed at a distance from the edges of the container and connecting the side walls with each other. The dished sides 1 are connected by a welded seam 2 and have holes with inturned edges forming openings 3 within which are inserted the tierods 4 and 5 that are welded thereto so as to be pressure and fluid tight. These stays constitute a rigid connection between the two sides 1 and further stiffening may be provided by the provision of slight corrugation in the sides. Where the container is shallow the inwardly turned openings may be made to meet and be welded together without the use of separate stays. One tie 5 is made hollow and larger and in it are accommodated the valves for filling and emptying the container as well as other fittings 7.
