<p>PURPOSE: A conversion method of the block information and an apparatus using thereof are provided to perform the conversion method based on the prediction block information for increasing the image encoding efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A prediction block information input unit (1000) receives an input of the block information. Based on the information inputted from the prediction block information input unit, if a prediction mode of block is a prediction mode in a screen and the size of the block satisfies the constant condition, a reverse conversion method determining unit (1020) determines whether the block is about the luminance component or not. If the prediction mode of the block is the prediction mode in the screen, the size of the block satisfies the constant condition, and the block is about the luminance component, the reverse conversion method determining unit determines the inverse conversion method of the block as an inverse discrete sine transform (DST).
