PURPOSE: A method for fabricating silicon carbide fibers is provided to easily and efficiently fabricate the silicon carbon fibers with uniform nano porous structure. CONSTITUTION: A method for fabricating silicon carbide fibers with a nano porous structure comprises: a step of controlling the ratio of silicon, carbon, and oxygen of polycarbosilane fibers; and a step of performing thermal treatment of the polycarbosilane fibers. The polycarbosilane fibers are fabricated by heating and fusing polycarbosilane and spinning the polycarbosilane in a fiber phase.
