A display device for displaying a user interface and a method therefor are provided to increase the convenience of a user in the use of a remote controller by detecting a remote controller ID and displaying the corresponding user interface according to remote controllers when a remote controller control signal is received. A receiving unit(110) receives the first control signal for displaying a user interface from a remote controller. A detecting unit(120) analyzes the received first control signal and detects a remote controller ID. A display unit(150) displays the user interface corresponding to the detected remote controlled ID. A storing unit(130) stores at least one user interface information corresponding to respective remote controllers. A control unit(140) controls the display unit to display a user interface according to the user interface information read from the storing unit. |
