PURPOSE: A high-pressure pump of an internal combustion engine is provided to prevent a contact of a roller and a tappet by installing balls on the roller and to minimize the abrasion of the roller and the tappet. CONSTITUTION: A high-pressure pump of an internal combustion engine a tappet (20), a roller (40), a roller shoe (50), a plunger (70), an elastic spring (80), and a spring plate (90). The tappet is installed inside a housing unit (10). The roller includes insertion grooves (41) on both end portions. Balls (42) are inserted into the insertion grooves. The roller is rotated by a rotating cam (30) while being vertically moved. The roller shoe is installed on the upper side of the roller and moved vertically. The plunger is installed on the upper side of the roller shoe and elevated to the inside and the outside of a cylinder (60). The elastic spring provides an elastic force to the plunger. The spring plate supports the elastic spring.
