PURPOSE: A polarizing plate assembly having a patterned retard, a fabricating method thereof, and an image display device using the same are provided to implement a 3D image. CONSTITUTION: A polarizer(20) passes specific linearly polarized ray from incident light. A patterned retarder(25) includes first retarder patterns and second retarder patterns at which optical axes are orthogonally crossed with each other. A left eye image passing through the polarizer is converted into a first polarized light while a right eye image passing through the polarizer is converted into a second polarized light. The patterned retarder is arranged in the polarizer or is laminated on one side of the polarizer. |
