A backlight unit and an LCD including the same are provided to prevent thermal deformation of a diffusion plate and an optical sheet by easily releasing heat generated from a lamp. A reflection plate(130) includes a base(132) having no gap, and an optical reflection layer(134) formed on the base, and upwardly reflects light emitted downwardly of light generated from the lamp, and radiates heat generated from the lamp. A bottom cover(140) receives the lamp and the reflection plate, and radiates heat transmitted through the reflective plate to the outside. The base is formed of one of polyethylene terephthalate polyethylene, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyolefin, and a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing at least two monomers thereof. The base includes one of aluminum paste, aluminum powder, aluminum oxide, and a mixture thereof. |
