PURPOSE: An aqueous binder composition provides a current collector and an active material with excellent binding force and electrochemical stability, in a positive electrode, and in a negative electrode, prevents the deformation of an electrode by excellent tensile strength and adhesion even when an active material is expanded or contracted. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous binder composition includes a polymer binder which has at least one amide group and an at least one carboxylate group, in the polymer repeating unit. A manufacturing method of an aqueous binder composition for an electrode comprises a step of condensation polymerizing diamine which has an acid component and an amine group at both ends and an organic solvent type polymer including one or more carboxyl groups and one or more amide groups in the polymer repeating units; and a step of converting the carboxyl group into a carboxyl base group.
