PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to partially absorb light through an absorber, and to reduce a hot spot by brightness variation. CONSTITUTION: A substrate (31) comprises a reflecting layer (37) and an absorbing layer (39). The reflecting layer reflects light emitted from a light emitting diode (LED). The absorbing layer absorbs the light passing through the reflecting layer. A light guide plate supplies light to a liquid crystal panel. A light source unit supplies light to the light guide plate from the side. The light source unit includes the side view type LED. |
