PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misregistration of paper in an uppermost layer during paper sorting.SOLUTION: During paper sorting, a first paper stacking position, where both an offset guide plate 52 and an end fence plate 82 are on standby for a paper receiving table 21, and a second paper stacking position, where both the offset guide plate 52 and the end fence plate 82 are each offset by a predetermined amount to a downstream side with respect to the first paper stacking position, are alternately repeated. In the second paper stacking position, while a second paper contact member 97 attached to a lower part of the end fence plate 82 is brought into contact with a front end of paper P sorted in the first paper stacking position last time, a first paper contact member 53 attached to a lower part of the offset guide plate 52 is brought into soft contact with paper P in an uppermost layer, sorted in the first paper stacking position last time. After that, the end fence plate 82 is offset. |
