PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which is excellent in adhesion, liquid crystal alignment, and planar shape of a retardation layer between a substrate, an interlayer (acrylic layer) and the retardation layer, in which the oriented state of liquid crystal material is immobilized, and which can be also thinned, and provide a retardation film, a polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal display device using such an optical film.SOLUTION: In an optical film, on a substrate of cellulose acylate, an acrylic layer is provided which contains an acrylic compound in which at least one hydroxy group of a polyhydric alcohol compound is substituted by a (meth)acryloyl group, and a polymerizable compound having a polar group and a polymerizable group, and on the acrylic layer, a retardation layer is provided in which the oriented state of liquid crystal material is immobilized. |
