PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium recovery device and a recording device, capable of applying tension to a long medium while suppressing increase in a number of components.SOLUTION: A medium recovery device includes: a support shaft 35 which extends in a width direction intersecting with a discharge direction of paper sheet P on a lower side in the gravity direction from a device body 13 to support a medium holding member 38 holding cut paper sheet from a lower side and recovering the cut paper sheet, when the paper sheet P discharged from the device body 13 is the cut paper sheet; and a winding shaft 41 winding and recovering a continuous form paper SP by rotating about an axial line along the width direction intersecting with the discharge direction of the paper sheet P at a position separated from the support shaft 35, when the paper sheet P discharged from the device body 13 is the continuous form paper SP. The support shaft 35 abuts on a portion of the continuous form paper SP between the device body 13 and the winding shaft 41, so as to apply tension to the continuous form paper SP. |
