PURPOSE: A fault protection system for a power system of a dynamically positioned vessel is provided to offer a short circuit and over current protection using definite time over current curve. CONSTITUTION: A power distribution bus (15) comprises a bus subsection. Electric connections comprises bus ties (17) connecting the bus subsections with ring organization. A first circuit breaker (41) is connected between bus subsections to block the electric connections. A generator circuit breaker (45) binds a generator (21) to the bus subsection. A feeder circuit breaker (43) binds the loads to the bus subsection. The second circuit breaker (42) binds a second end of the bus subsection to the additional bus subsection.
