PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device in which when emission luminance of an LED is controlled for each of areas consisting of a plurality of LEDs, loads are dispersed among a plurality of driver circuits for driving the LEDs, thereby restraining a rise of temperature of ICs or semiconductor elements included in the driver circuits.SOLUTION: An LED lighting device is mounted in a display device provided with a local dimming function in which a back light is divided into a plurality of areas and light emission of an LED is controlled for each of the divided areas in accordance with a video signal of each area. The LED lighting device comprises a plurality of LED units 71 and 72 including a plurality of LED elements and a plurality of driver circuits 62 and 63 for driving the LED units 71 and 72. Each of the LED units 71 and 72 is disposed so as to correspond to a predetermined area of a display panel of the display device, and adjacent LED elements in the LED unit corresponding to the predetermined area are connected to different driver circuits to be driven. |
