PURPOSE: A trunk auto-opening control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to remove the inconvenience of a user to open a trunk after putting down a load. CONSTITUTION: A trunk auto-opening control method using a fob key and the wireless telecommunication. When a trunk of a vehicle is in an auto-opening hold mode, an LF antenna of the vehicle periodically receives LF communication data around the vehicle (S410). The fob key receives the LF communication data, and transmits RF communication data. An RF antenna receives the RF communication data. The position of the fob key within a specific region is checked using distance information between the LF antenna and the fob key in the RF communication data. When the fob key is inside the specific region, the trunk of the vehicle automatically opens.
