PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thin, flat-plate sealing member excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance, and solvent resistance to which a steady locking force is applicable even when sandwiched between pipes.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a sealing member includes: a step (S102) of compressing a knitting body to a first thickness greater than a thickness of a packing such that the knitting body is formed by knitting a metallic fine wire which is made of a predetermined metallic material and has a predetermined wire diameter; a step (S104) of filling the knitting body of the first thickness made of the metallic fine wire with a fluid containing at least one of smectite and bentonite composed of fine particles of a predetermined mean particle size; a step (S106) of compressing the knitting body made of the metallic fine wire filled with the fluid to a second thickness corresponding to a thickness of a packing; and a step (S108) of solidifying the fluid filled in the knitting body made of the metallic fine wire compressed to the thickness of a packing. |
