PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device having a detection part that can be applied to an air shuffling part in the sheet feeding device of the air separation method using a feed roller, and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding part includes a sheet stacking plate 102 for stacking a sheet S and a pickup roller 105 disposed on the downstream side in a sheet feeding direction A for feeding the sheet on the sheet stacking plate. The sheet feeding part also includes an air jet device 108 for jetting air to the side of a sheet bundle on the sheet stacking plate from an air jet outlet 107 from one side in a width direction perpendicular to the direction of sheet feeding by the pickup roller 105.
