PURPOSE: A syllable recognition device, a character learning system using the same, and a method thereof are provided to efficiently learn characters for infants or children. CONSTITUTION: A syllable recognition device includes phoneme cards, an RFID reader, a syllable code combining unit (40-42), and a control unit (60). The phoneme cards include RFID tags storing phoneme codes and displays phonemes visually recognized by the outside. The RFID reader recognizes the phoneme codes of the RFID tags on the card. The syllable code combining unit reads each phoneme code transmitted from the RFID reader into syllable codes. The control unit receives the syllable codes from the syllable code combining unit to output the same.
